CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

This course provides the student with the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

Upon successful completion, the student will receive a Statement of Attainment certificate.

Incorporating the Unit of Competence HLTAID009 Provide CPR.

Topics include:

  • Primary Survey - Checks for Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing
  • CPR (resuscitation)
  • Immediate casualty management following/during unconciousness and following a collapse
  • Report Writing

Face to face instruction is 2 hours.

Physical Requirements

This course requires participants to:

  • Kneel on the floor for extended periods during CPR practice.

  • Perform chest compressions and rescue breaths on manikins, which requires upper body strength and stamina.
