This course is for staff responsible for pool testing and will provide the skills and knowledge required to conduct pool water tests, record test results and perform visual checks.
Upon successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment.

Students have 3 months in which to complete all aspects of the course - theory and practical.
3 month extensions (maximum of 3) are available for a set fee.

This course includes practical tasks in aquatic environments. Participants should be able to:
Access pool areas and plant rooms, which may involve stairs, uneven surfaces, or confined spaces.
Collect water samples from various pool locations, sometimes requiring bending or reaching.
Handle and use water testing equipment and chemical reagents in accordance with safety guidelines.

Assessments will comprise:
Assessment Task 1
Questions and Answers (Resources are available in the Learner Management System (LMS) Resource section to assist learners with questions.
Assessment Task 2
Under the supervision of a qualified Pool Plant Operator complete pool water tests on 2 separate occasions recognising discrepancies and recording the outcome. On one occasion, visually inspect the pool water for a contamination incident.
Assessment Task 3
Video Assessment - students must video and upload footage of themselves completing:
A. Pool Water Tests for Free and Total Chlorine, PH, Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness and Total Dissolved Solids.
B. Identify and respond to a water contamination incident.
