Incorporating the Unit of Competence:
This course provides the student with the skills and knowledge required to perform basic water rescues in indoor or outdoor aquatic venues. Includes both theory and practical components. Upon successful completion, the student will receive a Statement of Attainment certificate.

Students will have 3 months in which to complete all aspects of the course - Theory and Practical. 3 month extensions (maximum of 3) are available for a set fee.

To successfully complete this unit, participants must:
Participate in four simulated rescues, returning a person in difficulty to safety.
Demonstrate swimming ability, fitness, and strength throughout each rescue scenario.
A baseline level of swimming fitness and confidence in the water is required. If you have concerns about your ability to meet these requirements, please contact us before enrolling to discuss support or reasonable adjustments.
Online theory using our Learning Management System (LMS).
Video assessment evidence will be required.
Assessment Task 1 – Questions and Answers (a student resource is available to assist learners with the questions).
Assessment Task 2 – Video Assessments – students must video and upload footage of themselves demonstrating the various rescue techniques (video resources are available to demonstrate the techniques that are required).
