Certificate IV in Authentic Pilates Method

The Certificate IV in the Authentic Pilates Method (10664NAT) is the perfect entry-level qualification into the Authentic Pilates method for you to start your Pilates career.

Graduates will learn about the complete Pilates 'system' and where the Matwork and Reformer fit into this system, and how to teach authentic Pilates in both private and group settings.

The Certificate IV in Authentic Pilates incorporates the following Unit of Competence:

Core Units

  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
  • HLTWHS001 Participate in Workplace Health & Safety
  • SISFFIT004 Incorporate anatomy and physiology principles into fitness programming
  • SISFFIT007 Instruct group exercise sessions
  • SISFFIT015 Collaborate with medical and allied health professionals in a fitness context
  • SISFFIT018 Promote functional movement capacity
  • SISFFIT019 Incorporate exercise science principles into fitness programming
  • APMHPP401 Develop and apply an understanding of Authentic Pilates history, philosophies and principles
  • APMPME402 Plan and deliver Authentic Pilates Mat exercise sessions
  • APMPRE403 Plan and deliver Authentic Pilates Reformer exercise sessions
$3,500.00 - (this cost includes Academic Units, Course Manuals, a 1 year subscription to Pilatesology and Workbook. An initial deposit of $1500.00 is required to secure your enrolment with a further 4 monthly payments of $500.00.

The Certificate IV in Authentic Pilates Method must be completed within 12 months.

Course Accreditation

This course is nationally recognised and meets all AQTF requirements.

Physical Requirements

Students must possess good health and have a reasonable level of fitness.


Practical and theory assessments will be conducted during the course.

An 80% pass mark on both the final written and practical exams.
