Duration:

Students have 6 months in which to complete all aspects of the course - theory and practical.

3 month extensions (maximum of 2) are available for a set fee.

Assessments will comprise:

Test Pool Water Quality

Assessment Task 1 

Questions and Answers (Resources are available in the LMS Resource section to assist learners with questions.

Assessment Task 2

Observe a qualified Pool Plant Operator complete pool water tests on 2 separate occasions. Under the supervision of a qualified Pool Plant Operator, complete pool water tests on 2 separate occasions. 

Assessment Task 3

Video Assessment - students must video and upload footage of themselves completing Pool Water Tests for Free and Total Chlorine, PH, Alkalinity and Calcium Hardness

Maintain Aquatic Facility Plant and Equipment

Assessment Task 1

Assessment Task 2

Video Assessment - students must video and upload footage of themselves completing routine inspections of plant equipment

Develop and Implement Pool Water Maintenance Procedures

Assessment Task 1

Assessment Task 2

Video Assessment - students must video and upload footage of themselves completing a backwash

Assessment Task 3

Video Assessment - students must video and upload footage of themselves completing the task of vacuuming the pool.

Video Assessment - students must video and upload footage of themselves responding to an emergency situation.

Apply Business Risk Management Processes

Assessment Task 2

Complete a practical activity based on applying risk management processes

This course is specifically designed for facilities in remote locations that require Pool Plant operations training for small numbers of staff or for people that prefer self-paced learning.

This course provides the student with the skills and knowledge required to make routine checks and complete minor maintenance on aquatic facility plant and equipment including water quality testing.

Upon successful completion, the student will receive a Statement of Attainment certificate.
