Participants will be required to kneel whilst performing CPR and breathe into a manikin via a pocket mask.

Annual CPR re-accreditation is highly recommended and may be a requirement in some workplaces.

This course is nationally recognised.

This course follows the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines for provision of First Aid. The aim of the course is to provide learners with the essential skills and knowledge required to provide an initial first aid response to a casualty.

Incorporating the Unit of Competence:

  • HLTAID001 Provide CPR
  • HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support 

The topics include but are not limited to:

  • Legal issues and requirements
  • DRSABCD
  • Managing an unconscious breathing person
  • CPR (resuscitation)
  • Debriefing/welfare
  • Choking
  • Illnesses (asthma, anaphylaxis, chest pain, stroke etc)
  • Bleeding control
