A copy of current Provide First Aid qualification must be supplied.

The role of Lifeguard is an important one in Australian society. The appropriate supervision of an aquatic facility is vital to a safe environment. The ability to recognise and react swiftly to an emergency can be the difference between life and death or serious injury.

  • Advanced Aquatic Rescue

  • Oxygen Administration

This is a physical course.  A fitness test requires that the participant:

  • Swim 200 metres in under 6 minutes
  • Swim 25 metres to a casualty, tow them 25 metres and remove them from the water with the assistance of other trainees in under 1 minute 45 seconds

The trainee will also be required to kneel for the CPR component.
